What you do at ANC?
As the Client Service Trainer, I’m responsible for recruiting the Operations Team in NSW. My role requires me to be the ‘jack of all trades’ to ensure I can simply ‘make things happen’ with an amazing team around us ready for action.
Transport career experience?
I started my career at 15 years of age working for PMG (now Telstra) taking telegrams over the phone, then much later I was lucky enough to move into the hospitality industry as a Customer Service Manager. I initially joined ANC as a part time Dispatch Assistant and have enjoyed numerous roles since 2007 including Customer Service Manager, Recruitment Manager and even had a short stint as an Account Manager. All my roles ultimately involve service to an internal and external stakeholder relationship.
Favourite part of your job?
The people. I have been lucky to witness the culture of ANC as it has grown and prosper over the years. To stay at a company as long as I have you need to be surrounded by amazing and supportive people.
How would you describe ANC if it was a person?
I would liken ANC to the great Winston Churchill. A person who is stoic, loyal and very fair.
What do you like to do when you are not working?
I do not let age determine. When I am not working, I love to stay fit. I am a ‘gym junkie’ attending up to six times a week and I also love walking. My interest in walking has taken me on many adventures around the world with my latest being a 930-kilometre trek from San Sebastian to Finisterre in Spain. Walking this distance, for much of it on my own, is definitely soul searching. Reaching the finish line, I was overcome by so many emotions and a feeling of accomplishment. My next adventure is a milder 400km walk from Portugal to Spain.
How do you help ANC deliver extraordinary experiences?
Each day I believe I walk through the door bringing my A game to the team. Staying focused and committed to making both the big and small things happen helps to ensure ANC continue to deliver these extraordinary experiences.
